Good day folks. I'm Ryan. Pretty good with computers and data centers, oracle, desktop support, exchange, SQL. Actually many, many years as a tier 3 support tech for a NOC. I LOVE windows 10 and I'm so glad I updated to this platform and I also understand why Microsoft offered it for free. ONE platform, ONE support. OK so here is my issue as it might be small but it is so annoying. I use Edge for internet access. I used to use FireFox in windows 7 and I liked it as well. I really like Edge. I use facebook (a lot), youtube(not so much) and google (a lot) and maybe a few random sites like news sites.
My issue: I have one monitor, I'm used to two from years of providing support. I have been testing for a day and here is what I cant figure out. We have Minimize, Maximize and restore right? (For Edge screen size) I normally use EDGE in Maximized mode and I size the "restore mode" at about 1/4 of my screen size. What is happening every so often is the EDGE browser application comes to full screen view, as in the entire screen is filled with my EDGE application but it's in restore mode and in the shrinkable and expandable version of the window. I tried to blame it on face book videos, testing that believe over and over did not produce a result. Can you all test the hell out of edge and see why when I'm in full maximized mode (as I always am) shrinks to "restore mode" but The "restore mode" is expanded to fit the entire screen.
In simple terms, when you are on facebook and in restore screen size there is a menu of your friends on the right lower hand screen and when you in full "maximized" screen size the menu of your friends is a list rather then a menu. With this issue, I can click maximize and the menu is gone but the screen space of EDGE does not change, it was already at full screen.
Details: I'm running a Intel E6300 with 4 GB memory, 64 bit operation system. Fresh install, not an upgrade. 9 Terabyte's of storage, No workgroup or domain, personal computer. I haven't changed a thing in the settings other then adding a few websites in my fav list.
I've been testing everything I can think of but I can seem to make it do what I am explaining. It just happens all the time and randomly. I've played the facebook videos, looked at pictured, followed offsite links. Really I've tried to nail this so I can show that this is an issue and I can duplicate it over and over again. Unfortunately, my efforts for now are in vein.
If there is anything you all know or can tell me to try I am ALL EARS.
Thanks for your time!
Ryan Gibbons

Ryan,
Would you please sahre us a screenshot here?
Based on my understanding, this sounds like that Microsoft Edge can't re-size the facebook webpage.
i just tested it at my side, for me it seems to be without issue. Which is similar when compared with Internet Explorer 11.
Regards

You could just be seeing a standard Windows feature. E.g. pressing Win-CursorUp could do it. Or dragging the window to the top of the screen so that the pointer goes beyond the top of the display. That's called Snap. Then you can unsnap the window. by reversing either procedure. Another possibility I think would be switching to Tablet mode but I'm not sure of any keystrokes or inadvertent mouse movements which would cause that, though there is a button for it in the Action Center. Unfortunately Edge does not support the F11 Fullscreen toggle otherwise it would be another case to consider for this symptom description.

Wau, we really have to discuss about the default Application setting to have Edge maximized by default.
You know: in Windows XP it was no Problem: Right Click to the Application Icon » Properties » Run: maximized.
This is still the default Windows-Feature-Set for Application Icons - but there was a programmer who has disabled it.
Win-CursorUp?
It's great to have Chrome and Firefox. They are able to automate Things like pressing Win-CursorUp, so that it just works as we like it.

Windows + Cursor-Down fixed it.
For me at least, that was wow, on an extended desktop window was not full screen, but had no drag handles - so it was usign my laptop desktop dimensions in error - probably a timing/cache bug.
automation of testing the stuff dude
