Hey all, have a very weird Outlook issue. Anytime a user adds a contact group to the To, cc or bcc box to send an email it occasionally times out with the "cannot perform the requested operation ", and when they try to expand the distribution group the attached happens....it would either time out or the field would just disappear. This happens in any of the To, cc, or bcc fields.
Below are the steps I tried:
Reinstalling Office from scratch
Removed profile and data files and recreated it from scratch (including removing them from the Outlook folder)
Trying another profile with the same contact group and others groups on this same PC, works with no issue
Rebooting PC
Resetting autocomplete cache
I also added the user's Outlook account to ANOTHER PC, and was able to reproduce the error!
Any thoughts?

Could we know you tried another profile with same account or different email account?

From the description, this issue happens to specific users?
You can try opening Outlook in safe mode to see if the issue continues. Please exit Outlook, press Win key + R to open the Run command, type outlook.exe /safe and then press Enter. This helps eliminate whether the problem lies on any third party add-ins.
Besides, can they expand the list on OWA or Contacts module?

Hi, we tried a different Outlook email user account on the same PC and it had no issues
It happens in safe mode too

Hi,
From the description, it is related with the account not Outlook client.
Please try expanding the list on OWA which helps determine whether this issue lies on server side or client side.
For server-side issue, you may post this thread to Exchange forum to get a better response.

Hi, this list has more contacts than allowed to expand in OWA...I am certain this is specific to this profile and it's contact groups. I setup a brand new PC with a fresh install of Office and had the same issue with this user, and again, no other user

From the description, this is related to this specific account's setting.
What's your account type? For exchange account, please post this thread to Exchange forum to get a better response.
Otherwise, please contact your server provider.
