So a company I'm working with started migrating their users to Intune for their MDM. It's primarily iOS devices and we use Outlook and Teams that need to be managed and preferably pushing our O365 tenant configuration for less user interaction.
I do changes in my own environment before implementing it to the corporate environment and I've run into an issue with installing apps and app profiles.
The corporate environment is using the Office MDM version which is what I started testing on.
The app Outlook I've done the following with Assignments(At different times)
1. Required MDM
2. Available for enrolled devices MDM
3. Required All Users
4. Required all Devices
5. Required Users and Devices
6. Available for enrolled devices All Users
I've tried adding Outlook using "iOS store app" initially but when doing some research I saw there was also the "Built-In iOS app" option which I tried. Initially I had Required set to a user group I created called MDM(test account is in that group.)
The test device did not pick up the required application and when I check the device under Managed Apps it says "Waiting for install status" when "Required" is selected or "Available for install" when "Available for enrolled devices" is selected but never goes past that stage and no prompts on the device (notifications are enabled for intune company portal.)
I tried unregistering and re-registering the device or hitting sync but neither changes anything on the device. I even made sure Outlook was uninstalled prior to registering.
I went as far as to upgrade my trial environment from the Office MDM to the "Enterprise Mobility + Security E5" to see if it was a licensing issue but the device still shows "No apps available" in the app and when I hit Company Portal Website when Available is selected and does not download when Required is selected.
If anyone has any insight it would be greatly appreciated.

Is there any error in Microsoft Endpoint Manager admin center->Troubleshoot + support-> Select user ->** Select users**->Troubleshoot->Managed Apps->Installation Status? If so, you can follow the troubleshooting guide to see if there is any evidence in logs.
