1) Two NIC's taking APIPA IP address (i) Microsoft Failover Cluster Virtual Adapter (ii)Broadcom BCM5709C NetXtreme II GigE (NDIS VBD Client
2) The HostRecordTTL property for network name 'Name: Hostname' is set to 300 ( 5 minutes). For local clusters the suggested value is 1200 (20 minutes).
3)Node "Cluster 1"is reachable from Node "Cluster 2" by only one pair of interfaces. It is possible that this network path is a single point of failure for communication within the cluster. Please verify that this single path is highly available or consider adding additional networks to the cluster.
4) Node "Cluster 2"is reachable from Node "Cluster 1" by only one pair of interfaces. It is possible that this network path is a single point of failure for communication within the cluster. Please verify that this single path is highly available or consider adding additional networks to the cluster.

Hi,
1. If you don’t use those network adapters for cluster network, please disable them.
2. Please check the following guides.
HostRecordTTL

Description of what to consider when you deploy Windows Server 2008 failover cluster nodes on different, routed subnets
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/947048/en-us
3. How many network adapters did you used for the cluster network?

The Cluster Virtual Adapter uses IPV6 as its native transport. Even if you don't use IPv6 on your network, Clustering will use IPv6 via an IPv4 tunnel to communicate. Removing IPv4 simplifies your network setup. IPv6 auto-config addresses will work for your crossover cable without user intervention.

Hello,
Can you give more details about your network settings in cluster?
Do you have a private network ?
Sincerely,
Murat Demirkiran

We have two stand alone servers with win2008 R2 and exch 2010 Sp1.
consider Two servers as A and B
Two Exchange servers A and B are in DAG Cluster. when Server A goes down the DB of exchange will automatically moves to Server B. but we don't have a common storage.
LAN 1 of server A and LAN 1 of server B are assigned with Static IP address (Private IP)
the secondary NIC of both servers are connected with Cross Cable.
one Virtual address for the Cluster. only two adapters in each are active but how come the APIPA IP address is assigned for two NIC. one for Microsoft Fail over cluster network and other for Active server's Local Area Connection.
whether the above mentioned details are ok should you need more details to investigate further.
note: the server was working fine after it's deployment for six months.

Remove IPV4 from your crossover cable. Make sure IPV6 is enabled on the crossover. That should fix #1, #3, and #4.
HostRecord TTL is probably due to a default DNS setting. Are you using Microsoft DNS or a BIND server running on another platform?

(1) can you explain me on the need of enabling IPV6 for the cross-over cable.
(2) we do have separate DNS server on windows platform.
