I need to install the Windows 10 SDK into Visual Studio 2015 Community.
I have community installed, but it does not have the SDK in there. So I downloaded the offline installer. It ran successfully, but it made no modification to Visual Studio, so nothing appears there template wise.
How do you get the SDK into Visual Studio?
Thanks.

Hi Chris,
I doubt that you installed visual studio 2015 Community before July 29, Visual Studio 2015 is available several days before the final version of the Windows 10 SDK and Universal Windows App Tools. During that brief gap, the release version of VS 2015 will not work with the pre-release versions of the Windows 10 SDK and Universal Windows app tools so you won’t be able to develop a Universal Windows Platform (UWP) app. Refer to: http://blogs.windows.com/buildingapps/2015/06/29/release-dates-and-compatibility-visual-studio-2015-and-windows-10-sdk/
But now windows 10 is released, and you could go to Control Panel, visual studio 2015 community –> change -> modify, and you will see the following window:
And you could install the Universal Windows App Development Tools, Tools and Windows SDK 10.0.10240 from this modify window.

You 'doubt' I installed community before the 29th?
What I find impossible to believe is that the person who green lit the VS2015 Community RTM a week before the availability SDK of Windows 10, breaking a working toolchain established for six months in 2015RC hasn't been publically fired with an apology issued to the development community.
Then they have a big party launch web page for developers on the 29th, with NO WAY shown on how to add it to the broken Visual Studio. That, in a nutshell, is Microsoft today.
In case there is some more doubt..

Hi Chris,
Windows 10 SDK is released with windows 10 on July 29th, before this date, the windows 10 SDK is unavailable from Visual Studio 2015 RTM.
Refer to this blog: http://blogs.windows.com/buildingapps/2015/07/29/its-time-to-upgrade-your-world-and-your-apps/
I know it is really annoying that windows 10 SDK doesn’t come with visual studio 2015 when visual studio 2015 released. It really brings you the inconvenience. But now it all released and we can install the SDK from Control Panel –Modify, thank you for your understanding.
And have you installed it from the Control Panel?
Best Regards,
Jiayi Li

Not on this machine, not on that machine.
Microsoft software installing to a Microsoft OS. It no Works. Stop printing pages of MSDN articles about the crap we need to try to get it to work, and start publishing software that does.
Please.
I've already spent more man hours than it should take to install a package published by the largest software company on the planet. Dont you think?
