Office 365 - microsoft.aad.brokerplugin error

Question

Monday, February 17, 2020 8:52 AM

Hi all,

My organization has migrated over til O365 from Office 2013.

All mailboxes are migrated and we have enabled MFA.
We are using AD Connect to sync.

The problem we have are facing now is related to MFA were the users are getting an error if EnableADAL is turned on.

I have checked the ADD Broker Token Log in the Event Viewer and I see this error.

Error: 0xCAA5001C Token broker operation failed.
Operation name: GetTokenSilently, Error: -895025145 (0xcaa70007), Description: The download has failed (the connection was interrupted).
Logged at webaccountprocessor.cpp, line: 593, method: AAD::Core::WebAccountProcessor::ReportOperationError.

I have tried to look everywhere on Google with all kinds of fixes, but can't seem to find a solution...

Anyone out there who can reach out a helping hand? :)

Best regards,

Jørgen

Hi Jørgen,

Does this issue occur with other applications exclude Office 365? The issue maybe also related to AAD token, to solve your issue better I suggest you ask a new question in AAD forum to for more helpful suggestions.

Please access Outlook Web App in a browser, try to open this mailbox, confirm if there is any other steps for authentication.

Besides, it's recommended to try the fix tool on a computer to have a check.

Also try to create a new account to logon this Windows machine, check if the issue persists in new Windows account.

If you have any updates, please feel free to let me know.

Best Regards,

Emily

Hi Emily,

This only happends to Office 365. I will try to post in the AAD Forum as well :)
It does work to access the mail through Web App in a browser. You do get prompted for MFA.

The Fix tool has already been tried without any luck.

It does work if I rename the user folder to .old. So it seems like it is something to do with the computer.
What I have noticed is that when I have a fresh install PC and delivers it out to a user, Office 365 works fine for like 1-2 days then the errors starts to show up.
