KB4339279\4336999 fails to install Visual Studio 2015 Update 3

Hello,

Has anyone had any issues installing updates for Visual Studio Pro 2015 Update 3? In particular KBKB4339279\4336999. The error message says "This update requires Visual Studio 2015 Update 3" although Update 3 is installed. The version reported in the "About" section says 14.0.254200.01 Update 3. The error logs appear to indicate that it is looking for v14.0.25431 or newer. Anyone know which update would get me to that version? Thanks.

Welcome to the MSDN forum.

I tried to check the version number of VS community 2015 with update 3 in my side, it is 14.0.25431.01 which seems higher than yours and it also meet the requirement of this update.

Usually, we can try to install the VS 2015 update 3 through the following methods:

1. Click the Flag at the right corner of VS 2015 and it will display the notifications about extension and product updates, once you find the VS 2015 update 3 and click it to install
2. Go to Tools-Extension and Updates-Update-Product Updates and click VS 2015 update 3 to upgrade
3. Go to Control Panel-Programs and Features, right click the VS professional 2015 and Change-Modify, check the option Visual Studio 2015 Update 3 to update

Microsoft released several Cumulative servicing updates that are applied to Visual Studio 2015 Update 3.  It appears that you need to apply the last servicing update to bring VS2015 Update 3 to 14.0.25431.
