Hello everybody
My environment is SharePoint 2010 with Exchange 2010. I try register a shared mailbox in the alert list of a SharePoint list.
A shared mailbox has by design a disabled user account in die active directory. When I try to "set alert on this list" with the people picker, it will not find the user. As soon as the user of the shared mailbox is enabled, people picker will find the mailbox.
Is there a solution to configure shared mailboxes in alert lists without enabling the user?
Thanks for your help,
Juerg
Update: My poblem results from people picker who didn't find deactivated Active Directory Users. I found a lot of information to this topic, but unfortunately no solution.

Hi Juerg,
I tried many values with stsadm -o setproperty -pn peoplepicker-searchadcustomfilter, but it can't seem to work for both disabled and enabled AD account at the same time in SharePoint people picker.
You can create an AD Security Group(containing the shared mailbox as member) with mail address, then resolve this Security Group in SharePoint list "Alert me" box, and then alert is sent to this Security Group and shared mailbox will also receive this alert mail.
Thanks

Hi Daniel
Thanks a lot for your solution, it's really a great help for me! Now it's working good with this disabled account of a shared mailbox.
Thanks,
Juerg
