Question

Thursday, November 15, 2012 11:01 PM

Hello all,

Ive recently started playing with SCCM 2012 sp1 and Appv5 for our school enviroment. Installation of applications deployed from sccm from MSI are installing and working fine thru software center on the client. However when i try to push out a APPv5 package the installation fails. Ive been through logs etc and trawled the internet but cant seem to find a solution.(Either its not there or i got no idea what im looking for.)

In software center the install fails with code  0x87D0128F

ill attach some log files hopefully they are the ones that can help.

See if this helps: http://www.petervanderwoude.nl/post/deploy-app-v-version-of-office-2013-with-configmgr-2012/

BTW The Error 0x87D0128F is "The App-V sftmime command returned failure"

I know this is an old post, but I'll put in my 2 cents anyway.

This fix did not work for me. I did everything it said. I enabled package scripts, shortened the package name, even installed the latest hotfix (currently App-V 5.1 Hotfix 6 - v5.1.115.0), and I still get this error. What seemed to fix it for me was to change the deployment type in SCCM from "Stream content from distribution point" to "Download content from distribution point and run locally". I don't know why that fixes it for me, but it seems to have done the trick (I also have a redirected AppData folder, maybe that has something to do with it?).

Anyway, hope this helps anyone else who might be plagued by this aggravating error.
