Question

Hi,
I have an InfoPath form built and linked to a SharePoint list and want to hide/show the controls based on the contents of the Content Type drop-down. I read in a different post to place the controls in the section control. I tried adding rows to this then placing the section control and cutting and pasting my drop-downs and labels into the control. It doesn't seem to want to do that. Is it because this is a grid? Secondly, the post mentioned creating a rule something like Content Type = "Boilers" and setting the action to hide other sections. However, the only actions that I can add are to Set a field's value, query for data, submit data, or send data to a web part. Is there another way to add this rule?
Thanks,
Thayana

Hi Sara,
I actually couldn't use the Is Blank. I had to have sections and add a rule based on the value of another drop down, but I got it to work.
Thanks,
Thayana

It's difficult in infopath, recommended that you can use HTML5 design the form

Hi ThayanaK,
You can hide the field based on the drop-down value in the InfoPath form.
Follow the steps below:
1. Select the field you want to hide, add rule and select “Is Blank”. In my environment, I want to hide the field2 like the picture.
2. Change rule. In the condition section, you could set the condition when you want to hide the field. In the rule type, select “formatting”, then select the “hide the control”.
In my environment, when the “1” is selected in the dropdown field, I want to hide the field2.
3. Publish the form and the result as below.
