Question
Monday, February 10, 2020 6:26 PM
I don't know what happened, I lost the menu at top of a modern library view, ie. upload, add new, quick edit edit.
I have to switch to Classic view to upload / drag in files. I believe I accidently clicked "Expand Content" to the menu bar disappeared. But can't find a way to get it back
Can some one tell me what to do to get those menu items back?
Thanks for any tips!

Hi QuickLaunch,
In the classic document library, whether you can see ‘upload’、’new’ button in the top menu like below screenshot shows?

If you can see, it could be an internet or browser problem. Make sure your internet is unobstructed and try to open the document library in another browser, compare the result.
Click the ‘Expand Content’ button will not lead to the top menu disappearing.

If you can’t see, make sure that you have enough permission for this document library.
Best regards,
Emily Du

I do see "Upload", "Add new" in the top menu in classic view. but nothing in modern view.
this happens in new Edge (chromium) browser, but not happening in IE.
Strangely, two libraries, one shows the top menu in both IE and new Edge in modern view. The other shows ok in IE but nothing in new edge.
It seems to be a problem with the browser, but why one library has the problem in new edge, the other one does not have the problem?

Actually for that particular library in question, it lost all custom navigation at top as well.
Must be something I accidentlly clicked caused this problem, and there is no way to get them back.
