I'm having an issue with a Lenovo Ideapad 300 running Windows 10 Pro 1607 build, where i am getting an error using remote desktop to one of our servers. The error reads,
"Fatal Error (Error code 5) Your Remote Desktop Services session is about to end. This computer might be low on virtual memory. Close other programs, and then try connecting to the remote computer again. If the problem continues, contact your network administrator or technical"
This error just started occurring two days ago. Since then i have disabled the paging file, and increased it, in an attempt to stop the error from occurring. Even when the paging file was disabled I was still receiving this error while trying to RDP. The funny thing is, it only happens while trying to connect to a particular server running Windows Server 2008 standard. Other RDP sessions to our other servers connect just fine. Does anyone have any incite into this issue?

Any changes to RDP preferences? Can you delete the default.rdp hidden file in your Documents folder and try again?

Hi Mike,
From my survey, The issue can be fixed by editing the registry key
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ Software\ Microsoft\ Terminal Server Gateway\ Messages\ <Domain>\ <USERNAME>\ UserPreferenceOption.
Change value to 0.
There is a similar case can be regarded as a reference.
Regards
