Hi, There are recommendations for default installation path Exchange 2016 ?
One of my friends said that it is recommended not to change the path for installation. There may be problems.

Hi,

For security and performance reasons, we recommend that you install Exchange 2016 only on member servers and not on Active Directory directory servers. The system drive also not recommended as the installation path, please select a separate drive.

You don't need to install Exchange on a different drive. It can be on C and you can move the database to another drive. The one thing to bear in mind is that the transport queue database is in the installation directory. If you install on C, you may want to move the transport queue database directory to another drive with more storage and I/O performance. See the instructions on how to do this here: https://technet.microsoft.com/en-GB/library/bb125177%28v=exchg.150%29.aspx.

hello,

i always install exchange on a separate disk.

and i have no problem.

the only think that suprise me the first time is when you have to recover exhange (setup /m:recovery) you have to add the path option to the disk, or you will have some trouble.
