Am I able to use Solaris to install it on a Azure Virtual Machine? Or I only can use the other non-Windows images like Suse, Ubuntu, etc?
Thanks in advance

That page you referenced is for PaaS VMs, not for IaaS:
Windows Azure Guest OS Releases and SDK Compatibility Matrix
For the question about Solaris being supported, I would instead reference:
Linux on Windows Azure-Endorsed Distributions
And for Windows:
Microsoft server software support for Windows Azure Virtual Machines
Thanks,
