Network Testing Companion Error

Question

Wednesday, March 18, 2020 2:16 PM

Hi,

I'm trying to use the Network Testing Companion to test my network, however the network quality test continuously fails. If I click on the report link the following text is in the text file:

ERROR: No data in input file. Please check that at least one record exists.

I also see an error in the tool itself while the network quality tests are trying to run:

the test took longer than 30 seconds and was killed

I have installed the tool to both my Win 10 Pro 1809 laptop and a newly installed Win 10 Enterprise 1909 VM.  VM and laptop are on different networks, using different ISPs.

Any help in troubleshooting this error would be appreciated.

Nick

Hi Nick!

I found you are not the only one to meet this issue. Some users have already reported this issue.

We recommend you check the file the NetworkAssessmentTool.exe produces (it reports the path it using, in the console output when the tool runs) and verify there is data in the TSV before running the ResultsAnalyzer.exe.

In order to make sure if it is a Network Testing Companion tool issue. I also did a test in my environment, I tried to test the network connectivity and quality. Then I clicked the detailed reports about test results. It seems there is no issue in the text because i did not see any error messages in it. The report like the following picture:

Besides, we also recommend you uninstall all previous version and install the latest version of tool. Some user had the same error on the initial release and solve this issue by this way.

For more details about the updated Tool installation, you can refer to the following link:
