Question
Thursday, October 24, 2019 4:14 PM
As the title eludes to, I am using Windows 10 Pro x64 and so is another user in our organization.
For some reason when she tries to install fonts, it asks for admin credentials.
I am using a non admin account on my workstation and I am able to install fonts, she isn't.
Something I should check?
Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,
Thanks for your question.
Adding and removing system fonts is an Administrator task, and will be denied to users who don't have the admin permissions, as they could really mess up Windows by deleting or replacing standard system fonts.
But you can easily solved it by adding ntfs permissions with the no-admin domain to the fonts folder.
"C:\Windows\Fonts"
Please try to use GPO to set permissions on the "C:\Windows\Fonts" to be writable to the non admin accounts.

Thank you for your reply.
Since Build 1809, we're now able to install fonts as non-admin users.
I am logged into my non-admin profile and have no issues with installing fonts without admin credentials.
Additionally, others in the office are able to as well.
It's just that some are unable to.
That is the weird part.

Have you tried to check the file folder permission which I noticed?
