ScreenTip not working

Hi!

I have a problem with the ScreenTip on Adding Hyperlink on image in Outlook.

wanted to show the ScreenTip instead of the Hyperlink when hovering the image.

I already enable "Show feature description in ScreenTips" but no avail.

I'm using Windows 10, Office 2016 365 ProPlus

Hi Moikzz,

As descripted in my second reply, the ScreenTips behavior of the hyperlink is by design in Outlook to avoid link obfuscation attacks.

The ScreenTip will not be displayed for the image which inserted with Hyperlink. It is considered for email security in Outlook. For example, if the ScreenTips feature is available for Outlook email, when someone inserted a URL which can lead to phishing sites or sites for this hyperlink, but when you hover the image, the display is just a safe text, you may be attacked by it.

Hi,

I tested and found that I can reproduce your issuer in Outlook 2016. Moreover, there is no issue with the ScreenTips in Word 2016.

As a workaround, please consider to paste the text content to the Address field when inserting Hyperlink:

Hi,

We did a deeper research on the issue and get an update about this feature: It is by design in Outlook to avoid link obfuscation attacks. (where the link is to http://harmfulsite.com, but the tooltip is to
http://microsoft.com)

Additionally, about the setting "Show feature description in ScreenTips", it is not for hyperlink ScreenTips, it’s for feature ScreenTips. For example, if you hover over the Attach File button:
