Visual Studio 2005 SP2?

Question

Wednesday, February 17, 2010 6:39 PM

I need the latest service pack for Visual Studio 2005.  I see one of my co-workers has SP2 but I'm still at SP1.  I've googled for it but not come up with anything other than SP1.  Where can I find the latest update?

Also, my automatic update in VS is blocked by our firewall :(

Thanks!

Hi Weinerschizel,

Thank you for your post.

As far as I know, there is no visual Studio 2005 SP2 on the official website. We can only download Visual Studio 2005 SP1 from http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=BB4A75AB-E2D4-4C96-B39D-37BAF6B5B1DC&displaylang=en.

However, if you are running Windows Vista or later OS, we need to download Visual Studio 2005 Service Pack 1 Update for Windows Vista and install it to address areas of Visual Studio impacted by Windows Vista enhancements. This update also applies to Windows 7, Windows Server 2008, and Windows Server 2008 R2.

Hope this helps! If you have any concern, please feel free to let me know.

Make sure you are not looking at the .NET framework version on your co-workers machine, which could be sp2. The visual studio 2005's about box shows both, the visual studio 2005 and the .net framework versions.
