Cannot enable Bitlocker at all in new Windows 10 Professional Built

Question

Wednesday, August 23, 2017 1:11 AM

Hi

We have a new built from scratch Windows 10 Professional version 1703 (Dell model 7280 and 7270)

We have done all the prerequisites requirement for bitlocker include using local admin, partitions systems (system partition is more than 350MB size, NTFS...) but whenever we turn on the bitlocker, it simply say

The service cannot be started either because it is disabled or because it has no enabled devices associated with it

The Bitlocker service is set as Manual at the moment

Just check if you have any idea?

Hello,

Try setting the service to Automatic startup type, see if it helps.

Type services.msc in search box and hit Enter, on Service interface, find out BitLocker Drive Encryption, double click it and set Startup type as Automatic, Start this service, Apply.

After this, enable BitLocker again.

For reference

"Error 1058" error message is displayed when a service suddenly stops
