The object (username) has been corrupted or isn't compatible with Microsoft support requirements, and it's in an inconsistent state. The following validation errors happened

Gents,

while creating a mailbox, we got a Warning which is titled, it happens when you browse to select the user which you want to create the mailbox.

could you advise us what is this Warning indicate? and who we can avoid such a Warning?

Check the actual error message after the "validation" text.

Hi ,

the error is "Could not convert property WindowsEmailAddress to type SmtpAddress. Error while converting string '-' to result type Microsoft.Exchange.Data.SmtpAddress: The email address "-" isn't correct

that because  we have some accounts with - in the E-Mail property
now, the question is, is it OK to ignore the warning?

No. The object is in erroneous state and you should fix that. Change the WindowsEmailAddress accordingly.

Hi e3sar,

Agree with Vasil. Please open the AD account properties in ADUC console and check E-Mail property in General tab. Remove the value from E-Mail property and try creating the mailbox again.
