Question

Hi everybody. I've got a quirky question. One of my colleagues says that in the past she could use the right mouse button to copy data (multiple rows and columns) in an Excel sheet and the right mouse button to paste it in a SharePoint 2013 list in Quick Edit mode. But now the right mouse button does nothing in SharePoint. There's no menu with paste, not in IE, Edge, Chrome and Firefox. In IE I can use Ctrl + V, but she specifically asked for the right mouse button. In the other browsers even Ctrl + V doesn't work. The only times I get a paste after a right mouse click is after I double click the cell in Quick Edit (cursor blinking in the cell). But if I paste it than all the data (multiple rows and columns) are being copied to that one single cell.
Anyone else seeing the same behaviour? And was it possible in the past? Maybe it doesn't work anymore after a certain patch?

Office 2016
IE 11

Hi R. Mango,
Per my test in SharePoint 2013 environment, I encounter the same behavior as yours.
I create a new list, in the quick edit, then it will call the menu by clicking the right mouse button when I click into the cell.
And if I copy multiple rows and columns and paste by the right click button, it will past the content in one cell.
And if I use Control+V, then it will past the content correctly.
Then it is the expected behavior in SharePoint 2013.
And we recommend you use IE.
Best regards,
Sara Fan

Hi R. Mango,
I am afraid it is not possible to trace back in SharePoint 2013.

Thank you for your answer Sara. Is it perhaps possible to trace back if this was possible in the past? Maybe in some kind of changelog?
With kind regards,
Richy

You can't be serious! MS acknowledges that its go forward browser (Edge) isn't fully compatible with SP2013 and their official response is to recommend using a deprecated browser?!?! Not acceptable.
