Question

Hi,

When I try to open my model.bim file with the Tabular Model Designer on the Microsoft Analysis Services Project solution.

I keeps giving me the following error:

microsoft visual studio error:
Index was out of range. Must be non-negative and less than the size of the collection.
Parameter name: index

When I look further into this problem I saw the following error:

Invalid token 'Text' at root level of document could this be the problem? Any suggestions?

Thanks

Hi JornF,

Welcome to MSDN forum.

According to your description, I might need to confirm some information from you. Do you use newer version of tool to open earlier version of SSAS project?(I mean whether you use current version of tool to develop your project or use other versions) Also, which version of VS ssdt do you use currently?

BTW, this similar issue may be helpful to refer to.

How do I resolve index was out of range. Must be non-negative and less than the size of the collection.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Best Regards,

Tianyu

Hi ssrs2020,

Welcome to MSDN forum.

Perhaps, there are something wrong with update. Which version of SSAS Tabular do you use? Please kindly try to update “Cumulative Update” to the latest version.

Hope this helps.

We are using SSAS tabular with a compatibility of 1500.  I have tried updating Visual Studio as well as all of my extensions, but the same error persists.
