SharePoint Document library is read only when synced to OneDrive

Question

Tuesday, March 26, 2019 11:47 AM

Hi,
I cannot copy files to my document library which is synced to my onedrive desktop client. When I try to copy I am getting access denied error. When I try to initiate the sync I'm getting a message like the site is read only. You cant make any changes to the files and folders. I'm the owner of this site. I have another owner also, who is able to sync and copy files through onedrive without any issues. So I assume there is nothing to do with the Library Settings.

Any help is highly appreciated.

Hi Chintuz,

Please check the following settings in your library settings:

1. Check if Check In/Out functionality feature is enabled, if so, disable Check In/Out functionality in the source SharePoint library.

2. Check if there is column set as Required, if so, make all columns are not Required.

3. Check if the Draft Item security is set to either Only users who can edit or Only users who can approve items in Version Settings of library, if so, change the settings to all users can edit/view.

Best regards,

Grace Wang
