Hi,
Windows 2012r2 all updates running cluster role and Hyper-V role.
Performance monitor shows "Hyper-V Dynamic Memory Balancer" average pressure is 80-85% of memory. The server has 64GB physical memory and 49GB free.
I have 3 VM in this host.
- A linux VM which is powered off
- A Win2012r2 VM configured with dynamic memory min. 8GB and max. 12GB. Memory demand is 6.6GB
- A Win2016 VM configured with dynamic memory min. 512MB, max. 3GB. Memory demand is 1.2GBWhat is causing the
Hyper-V Dynamic Memory Balancer high values?
Regards
Robert

Hi Robert,
The Average pressure under the "Hyper-V Dynamic memory Balancer" is nothing but (Memory wanted/Memory allocated) * 100
Ideally it would be around 80%, if it reaches 100 then you may find performance degradation
This may also depend upon the memory buffer that you have set on the VM in case of dynamic memory.

Hope this is helpful

Yes, i have read the provided link and others, but i am not sure, i understand why i now see 87% usage.
My memory buffer is set to 10% on both WIndows VM guests.
Call me stupid ...

Okay, i got it.
Have to increase VM memory buffer size, if i want to go under 80% average usage.
