Excel Date Field Expanding to Years, Quarter in Pivot Table

Hello, I'm working on a pivot table and whenever I add a date field it generates a Years and Quarter columns.  How do stop this from happening.  I just need the date to appear in its normal format.  I'm using Office 2016.  Thank you!

In the "Pivot Table Fields" window where you position the various fields, just click on and select the unwanted fields and drag them off the window.

Please right click Date column and select ungroup option:

To turn off this annoying new feature for the whole workbook:

file/Options/Advanced/Display options for this workbook/Group dates in the autofilter menu

Uncheck
