Is there a way to hide/disable the Update Now UI from the Office 2016 clients? We would like to control all updates centrally.
Thank you

Hi,
To remove the 'Update Now' button, you will need to disable automatic updates. To do this, add the following registry entry:
**HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\software\policies\microsoft\office\16.0\common\OfficeUpdate
**DWORD: EnableAutomaticUpdates
Values:
0 = automatic updates are disabled
1 = automatic updates are enabled
In addition, here is a reference for you about how to centrally manage Office updates:
Hope this helps.

Steve Fan

Will the client still update from SCCM if this registry value is entered?

Yes, you can refer to the article I mentioned before, see the "Apply updates by installing an updated version of Office 365 ProPlus" section.

Exactly this. Any update about this? I don't want our Citrix users pressing the Update Now button, this will do nothing for them, but it will trigger the update window on an admin session.
Come on, please fix this. Just let us hide the Update button for end users.
