Question

Hi all,

I upgraded from SharePoint 2010 and initially running in 2010 mode (Site Collections).

For most of the Web Applications the Site Collections can be upgraded to 2013 without any issues.

However, there is one Web Application that fails for all Site Collections.

For some reason they all point to the following location:

url not in mainXslFolderPath: C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\14\template\layouts\15\xsl\vwstyles.xsl

I know that everything SHOULD be point to the 15 hive, not a folder called 15 within the 14 hive.

It's not just the file vwstyles.xsl, but everything that should be point to the 15 hive.

Has anyone come across this before? I've search high and low across the web and can't find anything related.

Kind Regards,

Grant.

Hi Victoria,

Thanks for your reply. I now have grey hair (well did a bit before, but more now :)).

Was just about to re-create the web application and start over, but approx. 30 minutes ago found the issue.

In IIS for that particular Web Application the 15 virtual directory was pointing to the 15 folder within the 14 hive. I went into both SharePoint servers and updated the path to point to the 15 hive, and issue has resolved itself.

Just upgraded a site collection within that web application and worked as expected.

I also "sort of" cross posted about this issue, so will update that post with the solution to the issue too.

It would be nice to find out why that virtual directory pointed to the 15 folder in the first place though. Very strange, especially since all the other web applications were correct.

Cheers,

Grant.
