22.9.7: DriverVer set to incorrect date (postdated DriverVer not allowed) in \netlwf.inf.

Question

I downloaded the NDIS 6.0 Filter Driver sample that the error shows when I build the project, does it a BUG?

2>  Signability test failed.

2>  Errors:
2>  22.9.7: DriverVer set to incorrect date (postdated DriverVer not allowed) in \netlwf.inf.  The current date (UTC) is 2/11/2013.

I searched a lot of articles about the problem that it solved once I changed the timezone to UTC.

When I changed the timezone back to GMT+8, this error occurs again! Does every time I need to change the timezone or am I doing incorrect steps?

there is a new switch added to inf2cat for windows 8 that should address this problem, /uselocaltime. you can enable this switch in the driver package project ui, http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/hardware/Hh825932(v=vs.85).aspx

The first thing is don't change the timezone while doing this.  Basically by making it UTC you were able to time stamp in the future for your time zone and cause the problem.  If this happened when you originally downloaded the sample check your date and time on the system I suspect they were off.

Hi Donald, thanks for your reply. The time on my computer is correct and I also tried change the date in the inf file to today, tomorrow, yesterday, but the error message still there.

As I just found this article that I marked and will read it at morning, it is midnight here. Good night.
