We are creating school magazine and teachers needs to edit their own part on a single publisher file. We don't want them to edit the pages which assigned the others. Is that possible?

For this issue, please consult your file server admin about the permission settings. For more information, you can have a look at the related post @ http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/officeitproprevious/thread/9f03fb36-4f44-4d75-bf79-8ef23b53d868

Hi,
Publisher 2013 is not in the support list of Co-Authoring feature. In the situation, we cannot edit publications simultaneously. Check the information below:
Co-Authoring
Co-authoring simplifies collaboration by enabling multiple users to work productively on the same document without intruding on one another’s work or locking out other users. This capability requires no additional server setup and is the default status for documents that are stored in SharePoint 2013 document libraries.
Here are some changes in co-authoring for Office 2013.
Co-authoring is now supported in Visio Professional 2013, Word Web App, and PowerPoint Web App.
Seeing other editors who join the document to co-author is faster in Word 2013, Excel 2013, PowerPoint 2013, and Visio Professional 2013.
Updates are faster when multiple users co-author in the same OneNote page.
Users who co-author also benefit from these changes in Office Web Apps, Office 2013, and SharePoint 2013.
Users can view, add, and reply to comments in Word Web App and PowerPoint Web App.
Users can open Word files that contain revision marks in Word Web App.
Users can easily set document permissions and send sharing notifications by using the Share with People feature in Office 2013 and SharePoint 2013.
For more information about Co-Authoring, see Overview of Office Web Apps and how they work on-premises with SharePoint 2013

Hi Rex,
Thanks for following up but I don't know what to say as your message says that I cannot have co authroing in Publisher. So should take it as a solution? That issue surprised me a lot, I've never expected that MS Office have lack of collobration features on the office products.

Hi ICBL,
As already mentioned above, Publisher 2013 does not support co-authoring.
Possible workaround:
- Have users work with individual .pub files (all based on the same template).
- Create a “master” Publisher file – also based on the same template.
- When an individual .pub file is complete and ready to be added to the master Publisher file, select all the content/elements of a single page at a time in the Publisher file by clicking the edge of the Publisher page; then pressing CTRL+A to select all the elements of the page; then press CTRL+C to copy to the clipboard.
- Create a blank page in the master Publisher file.
- Paste the elements of the copied individual page into the blank page of the master Publisher document via CTRL+V.
