Question

Hi Guys,
I am experiencing a strange issue with pinned folders in Quick Access since upgrading about 20-30 computers to windows 10. Several of these computers have an issue where the folders that the user has pinned to quick access randomly disappear, but it is not an issue for everyone. I have spent quite a bit of time researching this problem, and have found the suggestion from the link below to be partially helpful:
https://www.reddit.com/r/Windows10/comments/3f60l6/broken_quick_access/
When I follow the steps to delete all the files from automaticdestinations and customdestinations files, a user's quick access pinned folders may appear for a short time but then vanish again soon after. We have been experiencing this issue for about three weeks now.
All of the computers have the latest BIOS version installed, and all of the latest windows updates have been applied, including Cumulative Update 1511. The windows 10 build number for all of the computers is 10.0.10586. All computers are domain bound.
I have asked this same question on this forum and was asked to post it here instead: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_10-start/windows-10-quick-access-pinned-folders-vanishing/4ea91660-882d-429d-863c-449f787e7a4b?tm=1463704394055
As per the suggestion from my last forum post, I have performed a clean boot with everything disabled except for Microsoft services and our Anti-Virus. The pinned folders disappeared within 20 minutes after doing a clean boot. I plan to test this issue with AV disabled as well, but I need to set up a test machine to do it on because I don't want to disable AV for a user that is online and working without supervision.
Our users tend to rely quite heavily on the windows explorer favourites/quick access/shortcuts because we have a very large network folder structure. If anyone has been experiencing this issue and can offer some help I would really appreciate it.
Thanks guys

Hi,
I haven’t meet with this condition like you, so what I can do is discuss with my colleagues and search online.
Firstly, make sure your system is up to date, the latest build is 10586.318, after my test, the folder which has been pinned to quick access doesn’t disappear.
Then, is there any privacy protect software or restore software on your users’ machines? In this case below, a user resolve his problem by changing the settings in the Privacy Eraser.
In addition, there is a possibility that user profile has trouble, try to create a new user account to see the result, if problem still presents, try the method in this link.
Regards

I can reproduce this at will. I am running Windows 10 that is up-to-date as of June 25, 2017. I have McAfee Security Center (the version that comes with my AT&T U-verse internet service).
If I check the "Jump list" box in the McAfee Quickclean application settings and run quickclean, folders I have pinned to Quick access disappear immediately. If I check all of the boxes except for "Jump list", my pinned folders do not disappear when I run quickclean.
