File sharing lock count exceeded. Increase MaxLocksPerFile registry entry.

I know this question has been asked a thousand times but my situation is slightly different so please bear with me.  When using one of our Access databases, we receive the error: "File sharing lock count exceeded. Increase MaxLocksPerFile registry entry."  I've looked through all of the available documentation that Microsoft has published as well as other blogs and forums but have not been able to find an answer to my specific issue:

The issue I'm facing is that I'm running Windows 10 Pro 64 Bit Anniversary edition and Access 2016 via an Office 365 E3 license.  The MaxLocksPerFile registry key that Microsoft (and everybody else) recommends to increase does not exist in the same location in Windows 10.  There are a few posts on Reddit and other places online of others looking for this registry key in Windows 10 but nobody has an answer as to where it is located.

I called the Office 365 Tech Support line but they won't help me because "Microsoft Access is a professional product" and apparently I have to pay for support for Access even though its included in my Office 365 subscription.  In fact, I was told that its the ONLY Office 365 product that isn't supported under the contract (which is utterly ridiculous, but I digress).

Does anybody have any idea how to resolve this issue?

Hi,

Please check if the MaxLocksPerFile registry entry is located in the following registry path on your Windows 10:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Office\ClickToRun\REGISTRY\MACHINE\Software\Wow6432Bode\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Access Connectivity Engine\Engines\ACE

My Access application is the Click-To-Run version with Access 2016 on Windows 10 Enterprise version 1511. If the registry key path is no correct in your side, please go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software, then click Edit > Find, type MaxLocksPerFile, press Enter to search this key. Then find the related and increase the maximum number of locks per file.
