Question

Hi Everyone,
I use a 2 disk mirrored stoarge space in Windows 10 (1903).
Upon checking the storage space I see a "Reduced Resiliency" warning on one of the drives in the pool.
The drives are identical and have the same descripition so I dont know which of the two has the problem.
Without removing the drives is there a utility that can tell me which one its is?
Thanks for your time and any info.

Hi,
Thanks for your question.
May I ask that there’s any changes, windows update or new installation before this happened?
For now, we can check this link (http://www.storage-spaces-recovery.com/library/storage-spaces-errors.aspx), and realize that "Reduced resiliency; check the Physical drives section". We get the warning when one or more drives belonging to the redundant spaces (mirror or parity) failed or is disconnected. Usually, such an issue can be easily solved by adding the required number of drives.
First, we can check this thread (https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/lync/en-US/8d671ee1-dde1-4e0c-8ffb-39f51132f577/storage-spaces-quotreduced-resiliency-check-the-physical-drives-sectionquot?forum=w8itprogeneral) to see if it helps.
A poster used CrystalDiskInfo (https://crystalmark.info/download/index-e.html ) to find out which one is a faulty disk. You can try it.
Then we’d try the suggestion as below,
1. Backup the whole Storage Space to a new hard drive in order to avoid data lost. Safety first!
2. Attach the disks to another computer to identify which disk that had a problem.
3. Format the disk that did not show up in Windows Explorer and was not readable.
4. The reformatted disk was then added to the original Storage Space and the rebuild process started automatically.
Furthermore, when you move the failed drive, you could use PowerShell commands to Diagnosis and remove.

How is this helpful? You're saying back up array and recreate it... Anyone can do that - any actual technical help?
