Question

Hi,
We recently moved our VPN to Meraki Client VPN.
We are using the Domain auth, and the settings in the buit-in VPN tool in Windows 10 keeps resetting to "general auth method".
Does anyone have an idea ?
Thanks

Hi,
You aren't alone. I have seen this issue posted in various places. Check the Meraki community and their subreddit and I think you will find some solutions.
Meraki suggested the following settings in their official doc posted here :
https://documentation.meraki.com/MX/Client_VPN/Client_VPN_OS_Configuration#Windows_10
Best regards,
Travis

Did anyone answer this? I experience this all the time with the MS VPN to our Meraki, too.
I have multiple VPNs and they constantly change. It is very frustrating.

I have the same issue. It started when we moved to Windows 10. Out of 100 machines with the built in VPN configured for Meraki VPN, about 10 of them have this issue. I believe on my machines, it is because I have a domain login account and a local login account built on my laptops. The issue seems to be aggravated when I login to my local account on my laptops. This action is guaranteed to cause a change in the settings of the vpn. Also, upon going in to <Settings, Network and Internet, VPN> when I change the authentication method back to Username and Password, it resets the connection properties, security. Windows removes the setting of "Allow these Protocols" . Meraki requires us to set "Allow These Protocols" to "Unencrypted Password (PAP).
This problem never occurred in Windows 7, when we stated using the Meraki VPN. It is extremely annoying and causes us a lot of wasted time, reseting non-admin user's VPN settings.

Hi Travis,
I tried the setting and it keeps reverting back to General Authentication.
