Question

Hi all.
I have a hybrid environment in our place. A local Exchange and have synced every users up to the sky (Azure cloud). We all are using Office 365.
I got a new users the other day, and I created her in AD. Gave her @company.mail.onmicrosoft.com address, synced her in the ADFS server and then created her some SMPT addresses.
Everything good so far. The problem was that I have typed her last name wrong…. So I went back to my Exchange, and into Admin Center for Exchange, search her up and change the e-mail and also her login name.
Things was looking good. I got to send external and internal, and also receive form internal and external.
The problem is that when I sit in my Outlook, creates a new e-mail, search her up, I see that in Global Address (and offline) list her email address is the one I created first (the wrong one). Her Alias is wrong also.
How can make changes that makes her email address right? Everything seems fine in Admin Center for Exchange and also when I go do Admin Center in portal.office.com
If I go to properties on her contact, I see that the SIP address is correct though, but not SMTP.
Thanx for any help 😊

Hi,
It seems that the Email address configuration in Exchange Admin Center is correct but the information is not updated in GAL or OAB. Please follow the steps below for further troubleshooting:
- In ADUC, right-click the user object, and then click Properties. On the general tab, check the E-mail field. Make sure it is matching the SMTP email address.
- In Outlook client, disable using Exchange cached mode in Account Settings.
- Restart Outlook with Online connection, then check the Global Address list. Confirm if the SMTP Address is correct in user properties.
- If there is no issue with Outlook Online mode, it means that the SMTP address information has been updated in GAL but not for OAB (Offline Address Book) which is using as GAL for Cached mode.
- Run Update-OfflineAddressBook cmdlet to update OAB in Exchange side.
- Create a new Outlook profile in Outlook side after updating OAB in Exchange side.
Any updates in your side, please let us know.
Best Regards,
Winnie Liang
