Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 SP1 Redistributable Package (x86)

Question

Wednesday, February 25, 2015 8:37 PM

Hi

Everytime I try to install Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 SP1 Redistributable Package (x86) I keep getting 'fatal error during installation'.

I even have a Windows update 'Microsoft .NET Framework 4 Client Profile for Windows Vista x86 (KB982670)' but keep getting Code Error 643

Can you please help me sort this problem out as it is becoming frustrating now, as I can't install Nero 15 or play some games on Steam.

Thanks

Jason

Hello jasjon,

Please navigate to %temp% flder and check for the log named dd_vcredist_x86_20100206195814, it is the log for your VC++ 2010 and contains required info that we can check. I nee to analyze that log to see details.

Please also make sure you've installed all Windows Updates and disabled anti-virus software.

Best regards,

Barry

Hello Barry

I have gone to %temp% folder and there is no dd_vcredist_x86_20100206195814 log. However, when I click on the log file link after the installation failure it comes up with the following information on notepad:

Microsoft Visual C++ 2010  x86 Redistributable Setup_20150226_202407718 MSI_vc_red.msi

However, everytime I try and cut and paste I keep getting a message saying I am not allowed to add links until my account has been verified at Microsofts end.

Hi

I can't. Everytime I try I get the following message:

Body text cannot contain images or links until we are able to verify your account.

Even when I delete the links I still get this message.
