Hi cms9651,
The error can be translated like this:
- The process can not access the file
'C: \ Documents and Settings \ Sanyo \ Local Settings \ Application Data \ Microsoft \ VisualStudio \ 10.0 \ ComponentModelCache \ Microsoft.VisualStudio.Default.cache' because it is in use by another process.
- Unable to load one or more types required. For more information, retrieve property LoaderExceptions.
C: \ Program Files \ Microsoft Visual Studio
I recommend you try the following steps:
- First , we may need to know what prevent the process.
So open your OS with Safe mode, show me if you can build a simple project.
If you can, try open your OS with normal mode and close applications from task master one by one to look for the error.
Then show me the software you found.
If failed, please look to the second step.
- If you went into this step, it means Visual Studio is already corrupt.
Some common steps are needed to fix:
It seems it has something to do with the cache, so do the following:
- Clear your %temp% folder, they are all temp files. Ignore those files you cannot delete.
- We may need to reset templates. Open Windows Explorer, and navigate to <Visual Studio Installation Path>\Common7\IDE (by default is C:\Program Files \Microsoft Visual Studio 10.0\Common7\IDE);
- Delete the ItemTemplatesCache, ProjectTemplatesCache folder;
- Open Visual Studio Command Prompt (2010) under Start menu -> All Programs -> Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 -> Visual Studio Tools (run it with Administrator privilege: right-click the program -> Run as administrator);
- Run the devenv /InstallVSTemplates switch
- Run the devenv /Setup switch
If reset templates did no help, try reset Visual Studio
- Open Visual Studio Command Prompt (2010) under Start menu -> All Programs -> Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 -> Visual Studio Tools (run it with Administrator privilege: right-click the program -> Run as administrator);
- Try some devenv switches in command prompt:
a. Run devenv /Resetsettings to eliminate the cause of corrupted settings.
b. Run devenv /ResetSkipPkgs in Command Prompt.
c. Run devenv /Safemode to see if you can apply it correctly. This can eliminate the possibility that third party Add-ins or packages are causing problems. - Switch and try a new user account. This can rule out the possibility of corrupted user profile.
If all failed, use this tool with full command to uninstall the producthttp://archive.msdn.microsoft.com/vs2010uninstall Then re-install the product. Any error when installing can be collect by referring to this tool: http://blogs.msdn.com/b/heaths/archive/2009/05/20/collect.aspx
If you have any updates, feel free to let me know.
Thank,
Barry Wang [MSFT]

Hi cms9651,
Welcome to the MSDN forum.
I'm not sure what is the root cause.
To narrow down this issue, would you please open that site with Visual Studio on some other machine?
What if you build a new simple project?
Thanks,
Barry Wang [MSFT]

Hi Barry, thanks for your new help.
The problem is fixed with this step and now VS 2010 working regular:
Some common steps are needed to fix:
* It seems it has something to do with the cache, so do the following:*
- * Clear your %temp% folder, they are all temp files. Ignore those files you cannot delete.*
- * We may need to reset templates. Open Windows Explorer, and navigate to <Visual Studio Installation Path>\Common7\IDE (by default is C:\Program Files \Microsoft Visual Studio 10.0\Common7\IDE); *
- * Delete the ItemTemplatesCache, ****ProjectTemplatesCache ****folder; *
- * Open Visual Studio Command Prompt (2010) under Start menu -> All Programs -> Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 -> Visual Studio Tools (run it with Administrator privilege: right-click the program -> Run as administrator); *
- * Run the devenv /InstallVSTemplates switch*
- * Run the devenv /Setup switch*
Thank for your time and hints.
