Question

Hello,
I have an issue to connect my Windows 10 computer to my Windows Server 2012 R2 Essentials server, I want to join my domain. I have found that I need to manually install the Windows 10 connector but I can't find it anywhere.
The connector isn't on your connector's page (https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=40285)
Where can I find it or is there an other way to connect my computer to my server ?
Regards,

Hi,
What happens if you open your browser and put http://server-name/connect in the address bar and press enter?

Hi,
If I do that, I can download a connector but I think it is incompatible or defective for Windows 10. If I try to install it after the download, I have the error : "An unexpected error has occured, to solve this problem, contact your admin".
I did exactly the same with Windows 8.1 and it worked.

No other solution ?

Solved. I made all updates on the computer and on the server. It works.

I struck this error when trying to connect a W10 Pro machine to a Server 2012 Essentials server.
The solution was to create a local admin account, login to it, delete the user associated with Azure AD (when I installed W10, I created a user account using my organisation details), connect to the http://server-name/connect and run the connector package.

Would the solution be the same for Server 2012 R2 Datacenter?

Possibly - depends on the exact issue you are facing.

With regards to this problem, please make sure you have manually set the DNS IP in the network connection setting tab before running the Essentials connection wizard,
Kind regards Tony,
