Show list of attendees in Outlook 2016

Question

Apologies if this has been asked before. In Outlook 2010, there was a bar on the bottom of the outlook program that would show a list of attendees that had accepted a meeting invite, and were going to the meeting.

Is there an option in outlook 2016 as I cannot locate this option?

Regards

Ron

Thanks for the reply. It was not really what I needed.

I have now figured it out.  It was to show meeting attendees from meetings which was not set by the organizer, and this was by simply turning on the people pane.

If you want to check who accepted or declined a meeting invite in Microsoft Outlook 2016, 2013 or 2010, here's how.

  1. Select the “Calendar” icon in the “Navigation Pane“.
  2. Double-click the meeting you want to check.
  3. Under the “Meeting Occurence” tab, select the “Tracking” button.

Good to hear that you have figured it out. Thank you for letting us know that.

Could you elaborate on how to "Turn on the people pane"?

Right now when I view a meeting request it is not obvious how to get the people pane (don't even know why it went away!) and have to Reply All to see attendees.

In term of UX, this is totally sad that it's not obvious to me how to do this.

Hi Twinprime19,

In your Outlook 2016 Calender click on the "View" tab there you should see "People Pane" on the Ribbon if you have the Outlook Connector Add-In installed (which I expect it should be by default).  Just turn People Pane to "Normal", then next time you open a meeting from your calender in the bottom of the calendar request you will see all your meeting attendees.

This fixed my issue. This should be a visible and clear option on the meeting view itself. Completely counter intuitive to have this be a global option only. Especially when it was turned off when upgrading to 2016 from 2013 with no explanation.

This helped me. Thank you Sayeed.

Alternative to see attendees is to click respond and select Reply All. In the new compose mail you can see all attendees.

Totally agree. Very counter-intuitive. Annoying to waste a good 10 minutes trying to work out how to do this and then another 10 minutes googling the answer. But hooray to helpful forums.

I tried this, but it simply composed an email to all invitees. Also, tentative responses are hard to discern.

This is more of a workaround...

Setting this causes too much clutter.  Also shows people when responding to emails.
If someone can list a better way it would be appreciated

I agree, this does seem like an obvious omission of a useful feature. This isn't something people should have to google to figure out.

To reduce the clutter, you can set the People view to "Minimized", which reduces the screen real estate a little bit. You can also use click the "Scheduling Assistant" button in the meeting window to view attendees. This is definitely better than using Reply All, but there really should be some indication by default of who the invitees/attendees are for each meeting.

Would have been cool to know HOW to turn on the people pane....

Why don't they just show this as a list? Why on earth would you want this to be hidden? Bloody dreadful UI design.

Thanks for the Scheduling Assistant idea, I would never have clicked on that for a Meeting that already exists.  It gives me a direct list I can copy from, unlike the People Pane which is not interactive.

A Context Menu on the Calendar would be more convenient though; or just include the "To:" field in the header info (I think it's actually "Required Attendees.")

Thanks! so easy, yet so complicated:)

A number of the suggestions don't work exactly as stated in all cases.

Double-click on the meeting doesn't open a meeting if it is recurring - it opens a selection dialog box. Since the instructions here otherwise are are for non-recurring, select "just this one".

This brings up the meeting detail. Other answers here say to view the "Meeting Occurrence" tab, but I don't see such a tab. Here is the full ribbon:

I found the way to get the list from here is to select Scheduling Assistant, which will show all the invitees, along with their availability (per their calendars, if available).
