To open this workbook, your computer must have a version of Microsoft Excel installed and your Web browser must support opening files directly from Excel in the browser.

We are using Edge to open SharePoint 2010 excel document and its giving the error mentioned above, do we have fix for this ?

SharePoint Open Documents Class Version : 16.0.10325.20036

Hi Sam, 

Edge is not fully compatible with SharePoint, for your issue, using IE to open the document instead of using edge.

Make sure “SharePoint OpenDocuments class” managed add-on is enabled. 

Internet explorer-> Tool -> Manage ADD-ons -> SharePoint OpenDocuments class : enabled

Besides, make sure you have installed office client on your computer.
