Add a specific mailbox's calendar to SharePoint

Question

Wednesday, October 24, 2012 4:31 PM

I'm running SharePoint 2010 and Exchange 2010.

I have an Exchange room mailbox that my users use to send in and schedule meetings.  They would like this calendar published on SharePoint.  Is this possible?  According to Microsoft, it is possible; however, when I follow the steps they provide, all it shows is the current user's calendar in SharePoint.

I noticed that it does't have a place where I can specify an actual account that I want it to use. Am I looking in the wrong place?

Any help is greatly appreciated.  Thanks in advance.

Howard

Hi Howard,

If it is a Room Mailbox, we can specify the mailbox at the "Mailbox" property directly to view its calendar.

  1. Add "My Calendar" web part
  2. Edit the web part
  3. Configure the properties
    Mail server address: http://mail.server.com/owa
    Mailbox: room [email protected]

Thanks,

Are you sure it's not publishing the calendar in exchange?  Like a vacation / holiday calendar?

Something that the users can search for and find in the Calendar directory?

Not sure that it would get added to user accounts directly, I think they have to find it once you publish.

What's not publishing in Exchange?

We would like to put an Exchange calendar on a SharePoint site.

Not sure what method you tried, but have you tried the overlay method?

When you type in the outlook web access url, you should be able to put in the URL to that specific account.

Laura,

I've looked through that site before. Can you give me a little more detail about putting in the outlook web access url? Are you saying I can do something like: http://mail.server.com/owa/[email protected] and that'll work and it won't prompt for a password?

Hi,

its like adding "PageViewer Web Part"; & use OWA URL+User URL, like this:

https://mail.domain.com/owa/[email protected]/

this is not practical solution.
