We have a library with folders in it.
For example: ProjectDocs/Projects/[Project Name]/[Project Stgae]/[Doc Name]
i want to get the Project Name from the URL and write it to a column
same for the Project Stage.

Hi
One of the column in a Library/List which contain the path is [FileRef]
Try using it, and customize it as you need

Hi
I've created a real example for you, using a workflow which will fill the column, when an item is added to the library
To see my example please visit this link

Hi keren,
In addition to workflow approach, you can also check if Document Set content type can be sued to achieve your goal, if you want to share the Folder/Document Set one column value to child items.
See the following article for more about the Document Set and column sharing.

I used that column sharing in document set a lot :)
But document set is predefined, and here we have lots of folders that their name represent a value which is the value i need as managed property. If there any way to get the folder name as property it would have done the work
