Is it safe to remove "Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 Shell (Isolated) - ENU" without affecting SSMS components?

Question

During system updates, the "Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 Shell (Isolated) - ENU" program was installed on our server, and Updates also installed at this time included:
Update for Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 Service Pack 1 (KB2635973)
Security Update for Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 Service Pack 1 (KB2645410)

However by installing the Visual Studio 2010 Shell it is now causing application errors to be captured by the Visual Studio debugger rather than being handled normally by the system.

Is it safe to remove "Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 Shell (Isolated) - ENU" without affecting SSMS components?

Thanks in advance everyone:)

Dear Albert,

Welcome to the MSDN forum.

As far as I know, if you want to remove Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 Shell (Isolated), it should not affect the SSMS.

If there have installed SSIS or SSRS on your computer, uninstall Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 Shell (Isolated) will affect them.

Best regards,

Sara
