My Acer Aspire E15 says it no longer has bluetooth. What is wrong?

Question

Tuesday, July 30, 2019 9:58 AM

All of a sudden, the Bluetooth button on my computer (Aspire E15) has disappeared. I have owned this computer since 2017 and so far had very little problems with it.

The Bluetooth setting is still available in settings, but there is no on/off button and there is also no button for Bluetooth on the bottom right of the screen. There was all of this yesterday. Since yesterday, the only thing I have done is turn on my computer and try to connect my headphones.

What is happening, and can I fix it? Thank-you.

Hello,

Open Device Manager and check if Bluetooth driver is installed and working fine. If you can't locate Bluetooth driver, please go to Acer's website and download latest Bluetooth driver for your system and install them.

See if it helps you!

Hi,

For hardware related function such as Bluetooth, please check the device driver at first in Device Manager. Such as delete the existing Bluetooth driver and reboot computer to load a general one, or go to manufacturer website to download the latest version would be useful for such issue.

Then Select the Start button, then select Settings  > Update & Security  > Troubleshoot . Under Find and fix other problems, select Bluetooth, and then select Run the troubleshooter and follow the instructions.

Also, make sure airplane mode is off we you configure Bluetooth.

Bests,

Hi Northernlights02 - I also have an E15 with the same problem. No on/off switch on the bluetooth setting screen, no icon in the bottom right corner cluster and no bluetooth in Device Manager.  This isn't the first time, last time after multiple restarts it came back and no troubles for about 6 months until it did it again.

Did you ever definitely resolve this?

Oh by the way I have also had, only once, the same problem with wireless.  I believe they are both on the same aux. board.  Does that suggest a faulty batch of wireless boards installed into the E15?
