Question

Dear all,
I am installing Visual Studio 2010 on a Windows system with Spanish language. I want Visual Studio to be in English though.
The problem is my installer only installs Spanish language and then the system display language is Spanish as well. so I try to go to options/**International Settings , ** I can only choose between Spanish and the System language which is still Spanish.
Is there any way to change my visual studio to English?
I would really appreciate your help,

Hi helinix,
Welcome to the MSDN forum.
What’s your VS 2010 edition? Please go to Help-About Microsoft Visual Studio to confirm its version.
Usually, we can download the VS 2010 language pack to install, then config it like you found to display the installed languages.
Search around only found this: Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 SP1 Language Packs, since the Visual studio 2010 is a little old, check the “Quick Details” to know the following information:
***The Visual Studio 2010 SP1 Language Packs are free add-ons which can be installed on top of the English versions of Visual Studio 2010 and Visual Studio 2010 SP1 Professional. *
If your current condition can meet the above requirement, then you can download the English language pack to install. If not, I recommend you install the higher VS versions like 2012/2013/2015 or the latest version VS 2017, those language pack can download from here.
Otherwise, you need to change the system language to the English.
Best regards,
Sara

Hi Sara,
Thanks for your reply. My VS version is 10.0.30319.1.
When trying to download the language pack for English from the first link you sent I get:
Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 SP1 Language Package
There is no language pack for the English version of this language package. If you wish to install the language pack for a different language, please return to the Microsoft Download Center page where you found this download and select a different language.
The language pack for versions higher than 2010 did not work with 2010.
Is there anything else to try except changing system language?
Thanks,

In my perception did Sara wrote it very clear. She wrote very well and clear what she knew and gave alternatives. So asking for more is in my perception ungrateful. She did not write to install higher version language packs but " If not, I recommend you install the higher VS versions "
I write this because it is always difficult to defend yourself in a forum.

The problem is that we all here use an English versions of Visual Studio. So nobody can even try.
In my perception you have more chance in the Spanish forum (or whatever forum which is not English).
How to come there, I don't know, I tried it but don't want to go further then this.

Hi helinix,
Thank you for your update.
Since the only available language pack not have the English version and also not support your VS 2010 version, it seems you have to install a higher VS version or change the system language, sorry for this inconvenience.
Best regards,
Sara

Hi helinix,
Sorry for my mistake, it seems the VS 2010 installer with the English language still available, please access this: https://www.visualstudio.com/vs/older-downloads/ and click the VS 2010 to sign in with your Microsoft account, freely join the VS Dev Essentials, then you can download the installer with English version.
After that, uninstall your installed VS 2010 with Spanish language and run the installer with English language to install.
Best regards,
Sara
