Printer driver install - Access is denied

Question

Friday, March 23, 2018 6:12 PM

I'm starting to see more and more machines on our network display "Access is Denied" when trying to install either a network printer or a local printer.

The users have local admin privileges on their machine, but are unable to install.  I've logged on as domain admin, and am unable to install (both network and local).  Even logging on as the local admin account on these machines gives the same error.

It just started recently.  Has anyone else run in to this?  Was there a recent update that is causing issues?  Google isn't returning much for answers.

Thanks.

The issue turned out to be our AV software.  Trent Micro Officescan XG.
