Question

Tried using Win 10 backup program but have never successfully completed. File History Backup Log indicates:

Unable to scan user libraries for changes and perform backup of modified files for configuration C:\Users\RB8084\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\FileHistory\Configuration\Config

Event ID = 201 (which evidently is a successful completion of task).

Log Name: Microsoft-Windows-FileHistory-Engine/FIleHistory Backup Log

Source: FileHistory-Core

Event ID: 201

Task Category: None

Level: Error

Keywords:

I've looked in different forums and Technotes without success.  Always believed in backups and was looking forward to Windows 10, but after this conversion, not sure….

Any recommendation to resolve the failed (never completed and not notified) backup issues?

Hi RB,

At first, try login with another account or create a new account to have a check. There is a possibility that the present user profile has corrupted.

Then, delete the file history config files and try again.

There is a similar case can be regarded as a reference, please check it for assistance.

FileHistory - unable to scan user libraries for changes and perform backup of modified files for configuration \AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\FileHistory\Configuration\Config
