Question

We have a number of Windows 2003 servers that have not been patched in a long time. They are control system servers so they are not connected to the web.
What is the best way to manually install all missing updates (like on a flash drive or something). Usually the Windows updates utility will handle all updates/patches, how can I decided which one to install, there is a lot of updates.
There is a software called Windows Updates Donwloader! is this the best way to go?
Thanks.

We are working on it. however, it will take time to establish that network. For the time being am trying to patch these Windows after the recent update release for Windows Servers 2003 and XP.
Do I have to install all previous updates/patches before I can install the recent one? or how can I know?
Thanks.

By recent one did you mean MS17-010? If there are prerequisites you'll get something similar to "not applicable"

Also be aware of the effects of changes to SMBv1

yes, I am talking about the recent MS17-010.
what do you mean "not applicable", is this when I try to install it or do you mean in the download catalog. In the catalog under version, it says "not applicable". Does this mean there are prerequisites?

You can simply try installing it. If there are prerequisites then the install may abort with "not applicable"
