"This add-in caused Outlook to start slowly." Is there a way to extend the acceptable add-in load time for Outlook as there is for IE?

Question

Hello,

When IE complains about long load times, it allows us to change the acceptable load time parameter, which saves us a lot of phone calls from end-users.  We have recently switched from another email provider to O365 and Office 2016.  Outlook is popping this error on many computers but unlike the pop-up in IE, Outlook's pop-up doesn't give us the opportunity to expand the allowable time limit.   I'm getting phone calls.

Is there a way to extend the time limit to allow them to load without the pop-up?

We need both add-ins.  As you could see in the image this site won't let me include so I'll type the text, they aren't taking that long to load.

"Outlook Social Connector 2016

Connects to social networking sites and provides people, activity and st...      1.513 seconds

This add-in caused Outlook to start slowly.

[ Always enable this add-in ]

Kaspersky Outlook Anti-Virus Addin

Addin for anti-virus protection                                                           0.734 seconds

This add-in caused Outlook to start slowly.  It wasn't disabled because it's in the always enable list.

[ Disable this add-in ]"

Thanks!

Hi Linda,

I'm afraid the add-in loading threshold (1000 milliseconds) is not changeable in Outlook. If you want to make the add-ins to always load, we can add them to the always enabled list. You can do this via the following registry:

Key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\16.0\application>\Resiliency\DoNotDisableAddinList
DWORD: <ProgID of the add-in>
Value: Hex value between 1 and A indicating the reason the add-in was originally disabled.

Note: You can get the progid of the addin from any of the below paths.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\Outlook\Addins
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Office\Outlook\Addins
or
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\Outlook\Addins
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Office\Outlook\Addins

See the following KB article for more information:

https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/help/2758876/add-ins-are-user-re-enabled-after-being-disabled-by-office-programs

Hope this helps.

If I don't need this functionality, can I remove the add-in? I opened the add-in menu in Options and appear to be unable to manage/disable/remove the listed add-ins. If they are add-ins, shouldn't they also be potential "taken-outs"?
