Microsoft Filtering Management service (FPS) is crashing

Hi,

i have Exchange 2016 CU23 with latest SU (august 2022). Mail flow is working fine but Microsoft Filtering Management service (FPS) is crashing. I can start it, but it crashes in 5 minutes.
I tried with "Set-MalwareFilteringServer SERVERNAME.DOMAIN.LOCAL -BypassFiltering $false", script\Reset-ScanEngineVersion.ps1, tried to copy the "ConfigurationServer.xml from working server or from exchange setup and all other workarounds that i found, but nothing helps.
Transport service is dependent on FPS, but it's working even FPS is stopped.

Did anyone had similar experience?

Have you checked if any error recorded in event viewer application log? And have you tried restarting Exchange Server Transport Service or rebooting your server to see if any help?

I used to see this FPS stopping because a date check failure with the change of the new year, like the information shared in this article: Trouble with Exchange in 2022 – Cannot Convert 220101001 to long

Buenos Dias tengo aun un exchange server 2013 el cual los servicios FMS Microsoft Filtering Management Service no inicia tiene el ultimo CU 23 y no inician

Hi,

i tried every workaround or solution i found on internet, nothing helped. I had to reinstall Exchange servers.
