Microsoft for Startups LinkedIn verification does nothing and Azure Support is blocked by AADSTS16000

I recently joined the new Microsoft for Startups experience using a personal Microsoft account. The Build Your Startup dashboard shows “Unlock $200 in Azure credits” and a “Verify with LinkedIn” button.

Clicking the button does nothing: no OAuth window, redirect, or visible error. I reproduced this in a normal Chrome tab, the Azure PWA, and a clean session after signing into both Microsoft and LinkedIn.

I also tried the official Microsoft for Startups program support path. Azure Help + Support cannot obtain an access token and returns:

AADSTS16000: User account from identity provider 'live.com' does not exist in tenant 'Microsoft Services' and cannot access Microsoft_Azure_SupportPortalExtension. The account needs to be added as an external user in the tenant first.

The legacy Microsoft for Startups portal does successfully open LinkedIn OAuth and I authorized it, but it then returns “No user found,” which appears expected because this account belongs to the new Microsoft-account experience.

Please escalate this to the Microsoft for Startups onboarding / identity-provisioning team to repair or reset the account-to-tenant linkage so LinkedIn verification can start and the $200 starter credits can be activated.

I can provide the affected account email, Trace ID, Correlation ID, timestamp, and screenshots privately to Microsoft staff.

    Hi Fajar,

The AADSTS16000 error indicates that your personal Microsoft account cannot access the Azure Support application in the Microsoft Services tenant. This does not necessarily confirm that your Microsoft for Startups account has an incorrect tenant linkage.

Since LinkedIn verification does nothing across multiple sessions and the official support portal is inaccessible, I recommend asking a Microsoft Q&A moderator to route your case to the Microsoft for Startups onboarding team. Provide the error details, Trace ID, Correlation ID, timestamp, and screenshots privately, and request an investigation into the LinkedIn verification flow and starter-credit activation.

You can review the official onboarding steps here: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/startups/microsoft-for-startups/application.

Thank you, and feel free to respond back for more assistance.
